Practice Summary:

As Senior Counsel to O’Reilly Law Group, Byrum C. Lee* brings over 40 years of diverse litigation, transactional, business formation, and business reorganization experience.  With over 100 bench and jury trials, and countless appearances before arbitration and administrative tribunals, Byrum boasts an expansive depth of experience in complex litigation matters in both state and federal courts.

After over 30 years as managing principal of a private practice law firm with an emphasis in design, construction, real estate development and complex litigation, Byrum transitioned into a position as Associate General Counsel for Transcontinental Corporation, a major developer of residential, hotel, restaurant, casino, and resort properties.  In that capacity, he also served as the Company’s Manager of Litigation, retaining and managing outside counsel for diverse litigation matters throughout the western United States while personally trying or arbitrating selected complex litigation matters in multiple jurisdictions.

Shortly before assuming his Senior Counsel position with O’Reilly Law Group, Byrum devoted two years of his practice to a trial team preparing and trying a $145,000,000 construction defect lawsuit in Vail, Colorado. Following an extended six-month trial, that matter resulted in a favorable verdict with an accompanying multi-million dollar award of fees and costs – the largest such award in Colorado litigation history.

Byrum is a proven trial lawyer, effective negotiator, skilled writer, and accomplished public speaker. He possesses recognized mediation skills including service on the American Arbitration Association Construction Industry Panel of Neutrals as well as serving as a private mediator and arbitrator.
